Article withdrawal
Articles that contain errors, are found to be accidental duplicates of previously published material, or are considered by the reviewers to be in breach of the journal's ethical publication policy (e.g. multiple submissions, false attribution, plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, etc.) may be "Retracted" from the journal. Retraction means removing the content from the journal's platform and replacing the files with a page stating that the article has been retracted.
Article Removal: Legal Restrictions
In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to remove an article from the online database. This will occur where there is reason to believe that the article is clearly defamatory or infringes the legal rights of others, or where we have reasonable grounds to expect that it will be the subject of legal proceedings, or where its further dissemination could pose a serious threat to health or safety. In such circumstances, the article metadata (title and authors) are retained, and the text is replaced with a message stating that the article has been removed for legal reasons.
Article Replacement
In cases where the use of the results of the article may pose a serious health risk, the authors of the original article may initiate a retraction of such original and its replacement with a corrected version. In such circumstances, the retraction procedure applies, however, the retraction notice will publish a link to the corrected republished article and the document history from the database.
